Susie Knowles Susie
has just finished her MA in Surface Pattern Design at UCLan, this took
up most of her time in the last semester. Mainly her design work is
created using digital photography and software, so the life drawing
was a welcome change to relax and experiment with traditional mediums
again. Susie is hoping to return to more life drawing now and catch
up with everyone and flex her paintbrush and other tools.
Malcolm Cudmore Malcolm is a figurative artist mostly working in charcoal, pastel, coloured pencil and oils. Direct observation is at the root of most of Malcolm's work and most of his life drawings are done in charcoal, Conte and pastel pencil and on heavyweight, toned pastel paper. His interests lie in the light/dark tonal relationships that he sees rather than the depiction of accurate colour. Life drawing for Malcolm is a regular practice not really aimed at creating finished pieces but is an exercise in developing his observation and hand/eye skills.
